What to do after graduation?

Graduation season again! I remembered the day of my graduation, it was on April 13, 2011. I remembered the feeling that finally this is the day that i've been waiting for my whole life especially the time during thesis (really can't wait to graduate so that I could finally rest from all those sleepless nights haha).

Happiness filled everyone's heart my professors, collegues, friends, parents especially me. I was so overwhelmed that finally all my hardships paid off and finally i'm taking one of the most important walks in my life, my graduation walk. To get my diploma. The one thing that no one can take away from you, a good education.

But after the ceremony i asked myself, now what to do? Here are some guidelines to all the fresh graduates out there. 1. Have a break You deserve a break. From all those sleepless nights for the thesis and final exams. Go on vacation you're free now! Invite your friends on a relaxing summer getaway! Don't stress too much on finding a job right away. Go enjoy life but no too much 2. Keep your faith Now, it's the time when you'll found out that finding a job isn't a flick of a camera. It's hard especially for fresh grad cause usually top companies are looking for people with experience already. Don't lose hope, the right job will come. 3. Do what you love, love what you do You'll just feel burn out, tired, unhappy and stressed if you don't love what you do. Everybody have their "dream job". You may start small but you just have to... 4. Be patient You may not be where you want to be on your first job but if you just do your best you will get there. 5. Don't be afraid to make mistake You're young, you're suppose to make mistake. Nobody's perfect. But make sure that you learn something and be a better version of yourself. 6. Save up for the future Try to at least save something from your monthly salary, say 5%? Put it in the bank. You may use it on your very first investment. It may be your very own condo unit, car, health insurance or a business. You'll never know when you'll need it. 7. Work hard, play hard Do your best in your work but don't forget to take a vacation once in a while. Working too much is tiring you should still have your social life. Have tea with the girls on a weekend or watch a ball game with your boys. To avoid being burn out you can take a vacation. You're entitled to a vacation leave. Pack your bag and go somewhere you've never been before. Wanderlust.

Cheers to firsts!

First blog. First travel abroad. First time on disney! It's been what? 4years since the last time Rob visited Hongkong. Well, its not his first but mine's. We chose Hongkong as our first regional travel together for tons of reasons! From all the attractions, to the food there's so much to do in Hongkong and I thinks it's one destination couples should go and visit.
FOOD
We love Chinese cuisine so much that we want to discover authentic chinese dishes and eat authentic siomai! Haha. We've discovered an authentic chinese restau just around tsim sha tsui. The golden lake restaurant. It's a bit pricey but man! Their beef brisket is a must try! And their milk tea as well!
PLACES TO SEE:

1. Our first day in Hongkong we went to Ocean Park! It's so memorable cause it's our first time to see real Pandas. They're soooo cute! I love extreme rides and rob hates it but he had no choice but to accompany me to all the rides that I wanted haha My favorite was the Hair Raiser ride! I had blast i didn't even closed my eyes cause the view was just amazing. We watch the dolphin, sealion and the penguin show! we really enjoyed it! :)

2. On our second day we went to the giant buddha in ngong ping. It's kinda far from the city proper but the travel's worth it! the view is awesome and we felt like we're in another era cause of the rich culture we saw.

3. We also went some temples! And we get to see chinese culture.
hahaha Swag!

4. At night, we went to the avenue of the stars to watch the symphony of lights. Here in the PH we have dancing lights show at HK they have dancing lights from the famous skyscrapers! it's so cool!

5. You also have to visit the PEAK! where you can see the overlooking city in Hongkong! When you're going during winter months make sure you wear thick clothes. I wasn't expecting the temperature to be soooo cold up there so i just wore comfy clothes which i regretted after haha

6. Madame Tussauds is also located at the peak! more selfie moments with your favorite celebs :)
DORAEMON!!!

hmmm.. watching while William shakespeare writes our love story.. haha

7. You can't leave Hongkong without going to DISNEYLAND! it really is the happiest place on earth! good vibes!

feeling prince and princess at the Sleeping beauty castle :)

We really fell inlove with hongkong. The culture, the people and the convinience of living there. You can see all of hongkong just by taking their mtr. You'll never be lost of course with your map haha so for a first timer like me, I was scared at first to go to a different country that i'm not familiar really with yet, so i thought of googling tour packages but i was so happy that we didn't book any package because we get to explore Hongkong without time constraints from the travel agency that'll arrange our tour. Traveling to Hongkong even if its your first time is really not complicated.

Tips for first timers in hongkong: 1. You just have to plan ahead your itinerary for everyday. Google places you want to visit then make a plan :)
2. Know how to get to where you want to go. Hongkong maps are just free at the airport you can get one once you land Hongkong. Or you can always google it.
3. Bring a map always with you. Their map is really easy to understand. You can use it when riding mtr so that you'll know which exit you'll go out to get to your destination. 4. We didn't book a hotel. There are many guest houses at Hongkong which you can rent for as low as 1k per night. You don't need a fancy hotel because you'l be out most of the time. But if you have plenty of budget you can always book a hotel ahead of time :)

5. Be ready to walk and walk and walk! it'll save you money from taking a cab plus you can explore more when you just walk. Good thing rob and I really don't mind walking far, we love looooong walks :)

6. Take lots of pictures. Print them and put it in an album. Do this in every place you visit. You'll be surprised!

6. Just enjoy! think of happy thoughts you're in a good place to unwind and relax from all the stress you have at home.
